The OCCC method, a crystal manufacturing technology that does not require precious metal crucibles, was recognized as particularly Excellent among the entries for the 38th Outstanding New Technology & Product Award for SMEs, organized by the Resona Foundation for Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion, and received the Excellence Award. The Outstanding New Technology & Product Award for SMEs has been held since 1988 with the aim of promoting technological advancement among small and medium-sized enterprises in Japan and contributing to industrial development by recognizing outstanding new technologies and products developed by SMEs. The awarded achievement is the next-generation crystal manufacturing technology “OCCC method,” which enables the melting of high-melting-point materials without the use of precious metal crucibles such as iridium, thereby achieving cost reduction and energy savings.
